Mrs. Erin Fitzgerald
I was born in Wilmington, Delaware where my parents were both born and raised. I spent most of my childhood in Vail, Colorado and Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I have three siblings, a brother and two sisters who all live in Southern California. I attended Concordia University, Irvine and received my BA in Liberal Studies, teaching credential, and MA in Curriculum and Instruction. I met Lucas at Concordia and we were married in 2001. Lucas serves as principal at Pacific Lutheran High School in Gardena. My first teaching position out of college was at Hephatha teaching fifth grade in 2000. I moved to teaching sixth grade in 2002. My daughter Christie was born in 2008 and Hannah was born in 2011. I starting staying home to care for my girls in 2008 and in 2013 Christie started kindergarten at Hephatha and I started serving as a substitute teacher. I am looking forward to my second year of teaching seventh grade with Mrs. Jacobi as my team teacher.
Mrs. Katherine Jacobi
My name is Katie Jacobi and I am the 7th grade teacher at Hephatha Lutheran School. I am truly blessed to be working at Hephatha, where I am surrounded by loving staff and families. This is my 13th year of teaching at Hephatha, but I am also an alumni. I attended Hephatha from preschool through 8th grade. I then continued on to Lutheran High School and after graduating from there, received my BA in American Literature with a minor in Classics from the University of California, Los Angeles. I then realized my dream of becoming a teacher and received my teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach. I absolutely love teaching middle school, where I am able to pass on my love of reading, writing, and math to my students.
